the London Transport Museum is a fantastic example of a museum that has worked hard to generate funds by private sponsors and trade (Letters, May 03). Transport for London continues to provide generous financial support. But TfL funding government itself has been reduced, so that we make billions of pounds of savings by TfL to protect essential frontline services and transport investment. Our contribution to the museum should be reduced to more sustainable levels. Contribution to our 2014-15 were reduced by 1.5 million pounds, but it still leaves a very generous funding from TfL and the phase changes over four years gives time to build other sources of funding museum. We must also deal with other realities. For example, it is necessary to align the level of wage income to the museum with those paid in other parts of the museum and cultural sector. We are proud of the Transport Museum. He tells a fascinating story of how forms of transport in London and continue their invaluable educational activities.
